Dear TANAFACO Members and Partners,
It is with great pride that I welcome you to Taita-Taveta Nafaka Farmers’ Cooperative Society Ltd, also known as TANAFACO.
As the Chairman and CEO of TANAFACO, I am honored to lead this incredible organization that has been dedicated to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in our region since 2005. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to empower our members by providing them with access to markets, agricultural inputs, credit facilities, training, and capacity building.
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed, as we have won several awards for our commitment to sustainable agriculture, fair trade practices, and value addition. However, our greatest achievement remains the impact that we have made in the lives of our members and their families.
We have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of agriculture and the incredible potential of smallholder farmers to drive economic growth and alleviate poverty. That is why we have made it our mission to support and empower these farmers through our services and programs.
We are proud to provide our members with access to markets, enabling them to secure favorable prices for their crops. We are committed to promoting fair trade practices and ensuring that our farmers receive fair prices for their produce. We work with local and international partners to create market linkages and secure favorable prices for our members.
We also provide our members with access to quality and affordable agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides to improve their crop yields. Our credit facilities enable our members to invest in their farms and increase their production, while our training and capacity-building programs provide them with the knowledge and skills to improve their livelihoods.
At TANAFACO, we also understand the importance of value addition in agriculture. That is why we engage in value addition activities such as processing of cereals, fruits, and vegetables, enabling our members to receive better prices for their produce.
We are a member of the larger Cooperative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) and are registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries. Our cooperative society has over 4,000 members and operates in the Taita Taveta and neighboring counties of Kilifi, Kwale, and Makueni.
As we continue to grow and expand our services, I would like to thank our members, partners, and supporters for their unwavering commitment to our mission. Together, we can achieve even greater heights and make an even bigger impact in the lives of smallholder farmers in our region.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in TANAFACO.
Sincerely,
Executive Director, TANAFACO
